The world would be so straightforward if there existed a single perfect cannabis strain.

It would be fantastic if there existed a cannabis strain that would work perfectly for all users without fail.

Unfortunately, biology has other plans. The right match for one person may not be suitable for another person just as any meaningful relationship works differently for each individual. Medical  cannabis interacts with human bodies in unique ways and this is especially true when considering that there are multiple strains for patients to consider. Our medical cannabis strains are expanding under GMP conditions because we want prescribers and patients to have more options to discover suitable matches.

No one cannabis strain works for everyone in the same way, because cannabis can affect people differently based on their individual needs.

You’re More Unique Than You Think

The human body contains an intricate system known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS) which regulates essential functions including sleep, appetite, pain and mood.

Each person’s endocannabinoid system is as unique as their fingerprint. Research has shown the manner in which individuals react to cannabis depends on a wide variety of factors, including genetic makeup, age, and metabolism***. The same cannabis strain can produce different effects between two patients. The body’s biology determines how an individual reacts to cannabis products so one product is not inherently superior to another.

It’s Not Just the THC or CBD

Each cannabis strain is comparable to a mixture of hundreds of compounds including THC and CBD as well as terpenes and minor cannabinoids (and more). The different compounds in cannabis are thought to work together in an effect known as the “entourage effect” that produces a combined experience through synergistic interactions*.

Different terpenes found in cannabis are known to have distinct aromatic properties and have been observed in studies to interact with the body in various ways.

For example, linalool (also found in lavender) has been associated with calming effects, while limonene (found in citrus peels) has been studied for its potential mood-related effects.**

This is why we are expanding our collection of strains

When we pheno-hunt, we’re not just selecting standout plants, we’re laying the foundation for real-world outcomes. Once we’ve found those exceptional phenotypes (see our previous blog, Finding the One), the next step is making sure they’re available for doctors to prescribe to patients who might benefit from them.

Our cultivation of various strains with distinct cannabinoid and terpene characteristics, allows clinicians to personalise care with additional tools. We conduct all our operations under EU-GMP standards, which ensures that every batch maintains consistent, reliable results. It is essential for patients to find their suitable strain because the same experience needs to remain consistent.

In other words, we’re not just growing cannabis — we’re cultivating connection.

The correct match creates the most significant impact.

Medical cannabis is complex. Every cannabis strain has its unique characteristics, which may make compatibility differ among individuals and this is why strain diversity matters.

At Dalgety, we believe every patient deserves the chance to find their match…
